What’s the Mid-Autumn Festival?
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a time when families gather to celebrate the full moon, share tasty mooncakes, and enjoy lots of fun activities. It’s one of the most important holidays in Chinese culture, and it’s all about family, togetherness, and traditions.
Have you heard the story of Chang’e, the Moon Goddess? It’s a famous legend that tells how she flew to the moon after drinking a magical potion. Now, every year during the Mid-Autumn Festival, families come together to celebrate her and the beautiful full moon.
What’s Happening at the Festival?
Celebrate with the Birmingham community where you and your family are sure to love the exciting Lion Dance and Dragon Dance. Plus, you’ll get to see the magical Face Changing performance! And the fun doesn’t stop there; Children can make their own lanterns, try Chinese calligraphy, and even paint their faces with authentic designs.
